CWEB Overview

CWEB is CAD Centric’s infrastructure foundation providing web-based access to on-line engineering data within the enterprise.Through CWEB, technical and non-technical users alike, can readily access all engineering and manufacturing data, searching for information by part number, description, or other fields maintained in the database.

With CWEB as its foundation, CWEB Plus adds access to an additional data store and support for "CWEB Info Cards". Info Cards are an option to CWEB allowing the user to drill down and obtain additional information about a specific item.

Compressed file support allows CAD or archive data to be stored in compressed a compressed format and then automatically 
uncompressed when a user requests it.

With CWEB Pro as its foundation, CWEB Enterprise Access provides an Oracle SQL interface to Product Data Management (PDM) systems. This solution, when coupled with a PDM system and OneView provides the most economical means of 
distributing engineering data across the enterprise.

CWEB Supplier extends CWEB Base, CWEB Plus, or CWEB Enterprise Access to allow external users access to product data via a second Supplier CWEB. This extension provides CWEB users the ability to "publish" information to an external 
CWEB supplier web site from within their internal CWEB site. 

Immediate and secure access to a supplier, or group of suppliers, on a file-by-file or project-by-project basis allows for easy sharing of information with the "outside world". With the addition of a second CWEB and mail notification from the publisher, information flows seamlessly from engineering to suppliers, partners, or customers.

Adaptors provide the interface to engineering data stores through which meta-data is published for access in CWEB. Each interface provides access to a specific format of data and includes the necessary software to extract meta-data from the data store. Contact CAD Centric for specifications on each adaptor.

Interface Modules provide the ability for CWEB to spawn export routines to generate data in various formats. Each of the modules includes the necessary interface routines to launch the appropriate application and perform the required data conversion. Modules require the presence of an available license of CAD software to perform the export along with the appropriate conversion software.
